In warmer months, the spacious back deck will certainly be the most popular spot in the house. Just beyond the waving dune grass and a quiet neighborhood road lies the ocean, making this the optimal spot for early morning whale-watching and evening sunset viewing alike.
On rainy days, you can even enjoy the ocean views from the comfortable living room as you screen a movie on the TV with satellite and DVD player. With clean, modern furnishings, a decoration-only fireplace, and vaulted ceilings with expansive skylights, the pleasant space is delightful at any time of year. Of course, the house also has a fully equipped kitchen that is stocked with all the necessary pots and pans, cooking utensils, dinnerware, and small appliances required to entertain for a large group (including the all-important dishwasher!).
Two of the bedrooms feature ocean views with a queen in one bedroom and a full bed in the other while the third has a full-sized bed and a twin-sized bed. There is also an foam mattress available, along with plenty of linens, if you need a bit more flexibility in your group's sleeping arrangements. And with three full bathrooms, sharing the space with a larger group is a breeze.
Of course, the real attraction here is the beach. Waldport is a quiet fishing village with a gorgeous stretch of sand, offering plenty of space for building sand castles, flying kites, and hunting for beach glass or seashells. The Alsea River is less than a mile from your front door, meaning you are within an easy walk of excellent fishing, crabbing, and kayaking. Vacationers who like a more laid-back environment but still want to visit famous attractions (like the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Rogue Brewery, for instance), will love staying in Waldport, which is just half an hour south of the busier, more touristy harbor of Newport. Plenty of restaurants, pubs, cafes, and shopping can be found there and in Yachats, 20 minutes south.
The Bayshore Beach Club is also nearby and offers access to a seasonal pool (open Memorial to Labor Day)and activity room with a pool table, ping pong, Foosball, fitness equipment, etc. for a daily fee.
